Pikes Peak Lodge #5 was organized and chartered August 1, 1878. When this Lodge was established, it became one of the many African American organizations that gave direction and support to the African American community of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Region.

Throughout the life of this Lodge, Pikes Peak Lodge No. 5 has supported several different African American Churches in the Colorado Springs community. The following African American Churches had their cornerstones' laid by the members of Pikes Peak Lodge No. 5 with the assistance of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Colorado.

Pikes Peak Lodge No. 5 has a proud tradition of supporting the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, and has several members that have been elected to high positions in the Grand Lodge hierarchey and all have served with distinction, as Grand Lodge elected and appointed officers.

Pikes Peak Lodge No. 5 continues it's tradition of leadership and direction with the current Worshipful Master, James M. Cates. WM Cates introduced a Widow's Breakfast this year to display a sincere concern for our widows. Secondly, to honor the past leadership of Pikes Peak No. 5, WM Cates and the brothers of the Lodge will host a Past Master's banquet.
